Where I Ride
As I’ve continued building out the Where to Ride section of Best Rides DC, I’ve been thinking about how to extend those destination pages beyond maps and words.
While experimenting with trail photos in Photoshop, it occurred to me that many of the places we ride carry personal meaning — not just as routes, but as markers of time, effort, and memory. That idea led to the first “Where I Ride” posters: stylized, place-based prints created from real trail images.
I started locally, creating a small set of posters based on rides at Locust Shade Park and regional trails. The response from friends was encouraging, which pushed me to expand the idea to a handful of other destinations already featured on the site.
The posters are meant to complement the Where to Ride guides — a visual way to represent the places we return to again and again. Some are tied to specific destinations, while others are created from images riders submit themselves.
If you’re interested in having a poster created from one of your favorite rides or destinations, you can reach out and we can talk through the details.
A small collection of destination-based posters is available, and more will be added as the Where to Ride section continues to grow.
