Frayed Cable

The power line break on the way to the Allegheny Trail. We ended up riding that section twice.

Great day 1 ride at Raystown, albeit, needed help getting Nancy’s shifting back in gear. This has been our go to “start” of the weekend ride that couple of times I’ve been out here. This time around I did not get a chance to hit the skills area, but Locust Shade is better anyway.

Somehow the derailleur cable slipped and I lost all tension. Paul and Dave - who could see - helped me get things back on track and we kept going. The mechanical made a grea argument for getting a new SRAM AXS set-up, but I love my grip shift, so that is not in the cards right now…

Cable is hosed though, So I have to replace it like now, good thing I just bought these… I still have no clue what the trail names are but we did the really good downhill (Allegheny Trail - post-ride edit ;-) ) twice.

Second time I went a little more chill than the first. It wasn’t hot but it was so brutally humid. Despite some rain it was super dusty…
