My buddy Pete riding through the corn fields at Schaffer Farms. Pete was one of MORE’s original members, it was great to host him at this year’s Epic while he was visiting from the UK.

Chili morning led to a windy midday but that didn’t deter our spirts. Once we started rolling things warmed up quickly.

The trails were absolutely spectacular, as were my riding partners. rain from the day before was enough to settle the dust and make the trails extra tacky. All along the route the fall foliage was starting to come down and the trails were partly blanketed with a light leaf cover. Perfect Autumn riding.

It was great showing my buddy Peter, who was visiting from the UK, how far MORE has come since those early days riding with him. I Felt great until about mile 25 in. I stopped at an obstacle and my legs simply seized; it took me a few minutes to loosen them up just so I could lift them over the bike. I Fought cramps the rest of the ride but managed to keep spinning until the end.

No mechanicals or mishaps, just one overzealous rider who threaded the needle at a back up and dinged me hard on the elbow with his bars. I Rode sore for nearly 15 miles, but mostly pissed at his impatience. It’s one thing for me to hurt myself, but when another rider’s stupid behavior is the cause… all good though.

We ended up leaving the mothership early because it was cold and windy and food lines were taking too long. We were still was able to hang out for a bit and say hello to lots of people.

Late lunch at Picca. Peruvian food rocks…

Pre roll photo, with some random dude dressed for Día de la Muerte.

Rolling back into the Mothership. The 2023 MoCo Epic in the books.
